Fundraisers

There are multi fundraisers that occur at Manor each year:

PTA and YES Fundraisers

WinterFaire: For those of you new to Manor, this is a MAJOR event for our school. It occurs mid-November and is the source for PTA funds and contributes to the YES Foundation (PTA keeps $85 per child for our annual budget and the remainder raised goes to YES). The whole school gets involved in transforming our campus into a magical winter wonderland complete with carnival games, cake walks, silent auctions...and even sled rides with real snow! Check it out at: www.winterfaire.com.

Lap-A-Thon: This fundraiser involves the kids gathering pledges for each lap they plan to run. The kids have a blast with this event that happens in May. It requires the help of the kids and Manor community to run the program (track laps, hand out water, cheer them on, etc.) As the event draws closer, the PTA will request help from parents. If the WinterFaire raised enough funds to cover the PTA budget, then all funds raised go to the YES Foundation. If the WinterFaire was not able to raise enough funds to cover our budget, then the Lap-A-Thon proceeds go to PTA up to our budget requirements and any overages go to YES.

YES-Only Fundraisers

Book Fair: This event typically runs once or twice a school year. Books and gifts are brought in and the library is turned into a giant store where parents and children can come and shop. Additionally, teachers will put together a wish list for their classrooms and parents can choose to purchase books from that list to donate to the classroom. Proceeds go to the YES Foundation.

Box Tops: Manor School participates in the General Mills Box Tops for Education program. Funds raised go to the YES Foundation. This is a simple way to raise money with little effort and no cost to you. Simply look over the boxes of the current products you already buy from the grocery store (sometimes they're on the sides or bottom of the box). There is a long list of products that have "box tops" on them but some examples are Cheerios, Ziploc Bags, Kleenex, Yoplait Yogurts, etc. If you see a small rectangle that looks similar to the logo to the left, then cut it out. Save them up and bring them to the school's front office. There is a box that you can drop them into (ask Sheryl). Ask your family and friends to gather these "box tops" for you also. Start hunting and cutting!

eScrip: This is a shopping program that raises money for the YES Foundation. Sign up for this FREE service online and register your credit cards, debit cards and grocery shopping cards (i.e., Safeway Rewards). Then, whenever you make purchases using those registered cards at participating retailers, a percentage of that purchase is donated to YES. Once you've set this up online, it runs itself. There is no other commitment on your part other than updating any credit card information as needed. You can always go online for fun and check your account to see how much you're purchases are contributing. Click here to go to eScrip.

Community Cards: If you shop at Good Earth or United Markets, be sure to get one of the FREE Community Cards. You can pick them up in the front office or click here to request cards online. Every time you shop at either of these merchants, simply hand them your Community Card to scan. These stores have agreed to provide the YES Foundation with a percentage of the purchases you're already making. Have family and friends in the area? Get cards for them too!
