The Power of Millions
Manor Elementary PTA is part of the largest children advocacy organization in the world. We formed our PTA in 1953 but PTA began in 1897 and has had immense influence on our nation ever since.
By banding parent groups together under one umbrella of PTA, we can provide the power of millions of voices to benefit all children. PTA has helped pass seat belt laws for children, hot lunches, safe routes to school, health care for children, diversity outreach, juvenile justice system, bringing kindergarten to public schools, polio vaccination, smoking addiction education, moving ratings, HIV/AIDS awareness, Family Medical Leave Act, SMARTS-Bring Back the Arts....and so much more!
As a member of PTA, your influence expands well beyond our own school to benefit children across the state and nation.
PTA Organization
At the district (county) level, we are part of the 16th District PTA.
At the state level, we are part of the California State PTA.
At the national level, we are part of the National PTA.
The Purposes Of PTA
- To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship.
- To raise the standards of home life.
- To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
- To bring into closer relation, the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
- To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts to secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.
